Christmas 2010

Ninety students from the University of Colorado gave their time and talents to travel to the mountains of Catadupa, Jamaica, to perform service and work projects. Additionally, time was available to work with the local children after school. "It was during this time that I was able to introduce The Bible Box to some of these precious little creations of God," said Chad. "These children knew the Bible and when I pulled the figure of the four books out of the box, they said books of the Bible." I then said, "Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, the Gospels." After replacing the figure and pulling several other figures out of the box, I then went back to the four books. With excitement, many children shouted, "Gospels" or "Good News."

Thinking Outside the Box...

The Bridges Too Sunday School Class > Adults with Special Needs were the original group to have the prototype Bible Box as an educational system for learning. The Bible Box has been taken to over 30 countries by short term mission teams. The teacher is using the atlas to reinforce the Great Commission by letting the class locate the countries where the Bible Boxes are used for teaching the events in the Holy Bible. The students are learning that God’s Word is taught in any language and the missionaries say it can be taught at any level of Biblical understanding to all God’s people.

It is exciting to see how the students eagerly react to sharing their Bible Box figures with other students around the world.   The mission teams share photographs and stories with the Bridges class to expand the learning process.  Also, the Spanish version of the Bible Box Manual shows the language differences to the class.  "The more we use interactive teaching for tactile learning, the better our special needs class remembers the Bible Stories," said the Bridges teacher.  This is also the comments from many native missionaries that receive the Bible Boxes.
